NYT, There You Go Again

The New York Times published an article on Alaskan Gov. Sean Parnell's desire to reduce taxes introduced by Mrs. Palin. According to the article, Mrs. Palin refused to respond to requests from the Times for comment on the article. Mrs. palin instead responded on her political action committee's web site:

The New York Times just can’t seem to get much of anything right lately. No wonder they’re facing economic and reputation woes. Their article today falsely reporting on my record as governor is full of spin, and I shall call them out on it.

Mrs. Palin explains the reasons behind the Alaska's Clearn and Equitable Share (ACES) program. It's not clear whether she feels that the New York Times was mistaken about some aspect of this, felt that it was prudient background information for her readers, or even just an opportunity to market her past initiatives to a larger audience.

She argues that ACES was an improvement over the corruption that preceeded it, which again is not in conflict with the article in the Times. At no part of her rebuttal does she actually refute any part of the New York Times article, nor does she refute the assertations made by her former lieutenant governor, and current Alaskan governor, Sean Parnell:

“Lower taxes means more competitive,” Mr. Parnell said last week. “It means more jobs.”

In fact, the argument being made by Mr. Parnell sounds like one that could have come out of the mouth of Mrs. Palin herself, that of her former running-mate—Senator John McCain—or any other member of the Grand Old Party.
